Michigan Remembers Run, Sept. 22, 2007.  Two pages of photos!

This is a picture of Robert "Stretch" Cleeland who accompanied us on the ride to Lansing.  He is a Son Tay Raider and you will see photos of him throughout the two pages.  It was a personal thrill to meet this man.   He is retired from the U.S. Air Force.  The Son Tay raid was a raid that took place on Nov. 21, 1970 with the purpose of freeing  American POW's.  It went off in planned fashion but the POW's had been moved just previous to the raid.  Russ Surbrook invited him to ride up from Alabama to attend this function and he came.  Thank you Stretch for riding up to Lansing with us, and thanks for your participation in the attempt to free some of our POW's and thanks for your service.  (click on the pictures to enlarge)
