MEMBERSHIP

Michigan Chapter 6 welcomes all people to join our organization.  You do not have to own a motorcycle or be a Veteran to join.  You just have to have a desire to carry out our mission statement and help all veterans.  It is a worthy cause you will be proud to be part of.   Rolling ThunderÒ,INC's., mission statement is stated above.

 Rolling ThunderÒ, INC, was formed in the minds of two Vietnam Veterans, Artie Muller and Ray Manzo in 1987.  The first organized demonstration was in 1988 in Washington, DC during the Memorial Day weekend.  The roar of the motorcycles sounded like the 1965 bombing campaign against North Vietnam that was called “Operation Rolling Thunder”, so they called themselves “Rolling Thunder”, a name that was eventually trademarked in 1990.  Incorporated in 1995, Rolling ThunderÒ,INC, is a class 501 C-4 non-profit organization with over 70 chartered chapters throughout the United States and members abroad.

Michigan Chapter 6 was started in 2002 by Phil Rath with a base membership of 22 members.  We meet on the second Saturday of each month at 5:00pm at the American Legion Post 475, at 425 East Clay St., in Schoolcraft, MI.  Our agenda for this year includes  3 or more visits to the VA Hospital in Battle Creek, various rides and get-togethers, (some members riding to Washington, DC for the “Ride to the Wall”), interaction with other local Michigan Chapters of Rolling ThunderÒ and conduct business as directed by the membership meetings.  Our annual Christmas party is in December for the Veterans ward at the VA Hospital and is something we all look forward to.  If this sounds like something you would like to participate in, call the Membership Secretary, Helen at 517 437 3033 or any Officer for more information.
